Chidobe Awuzie, Corner Back, Colorado

One big reason for the Broncos success if the play of their corners. Chris Harris, Aqib Talib and Bradley Roby give the Broncos one of the best corner back trios in the NFL. They compliment each other very well and all defend the run.

However, the Broncos have some decisions to make after this season. Aqib Talib is in for a lot of money, and they can cut him with no dead money. With Roby improving and the headaches Talib gives them, they could choose to save that money.

If they do that, they will be in need for a corner. That isn’t the only issue at corner for the Broncos. Their top special teams player, Kayvon Webster, is set to be a free agent. He is their #4 corner and if they don’t bring him back, their depth is depleted. They may want to reinforce their corner back position early in the draft.

Coming out of Colorado, Chidobe Awuzie might be flying under the radar some. However, he is an excellent corner back and may even go in the first round. Currently, his draft stock probably sits in the mid-late second round. Scouts will fall in love with him, and will coaches when they see him.

There is a lot to like about Awuzie from his technique, to his coverage skills and even run defense. On the flip side, there will be questions about his production with only three interceptions on his career. Besides that, there are minor flaws in his game that coaching can fix up.

With Chris Harris and Bradley Roby ahead of him, Awuzie can work on fixing what he needs to fix. He also potentially has Aqib Talib ahead of him as well. There are many corners who would love to be under their tutelage, and Awuzie can learn a lot from them.
