The offense has been aggressive for the Colorado Rapids over the past few games with numerous shots on goal and they have kept possession of the ball the majority of the game in both their last two matchups. This strategy has seemed to payoff and it is going to take a monumental effort on the road to continue this level of play.
Kellyn Acosta has been a bright spot since donning a Rapids uniform with two goals and two assists in his first three games with the organization. Continued strong performance and aggression is going to be key in this game where the home crowd won’t be cheering for him.
In the game against the San Jose Earthquakes two new scorers materialized for the Rapids and this game needs to see one or two more. Tommy Smith headed in a goal early in the last game and Bismark Boateng kicked the game winner for a goal in stoppage time. The team play should reward new players every game and it will be needed in this tough match to keep the Colorado Rapids streak alive.
