Defensive Bubble Players

Brendan Langley (#27 above) has been a project since he was drafted in the third round last year by The Broncos. A great athlete that hasn’t played much defensive back, he recently found himself as the fifth corner-back on the team and clearly on the bubble – and then Adam Jones was acquired. This likely makes Brendan Langley a practice squad target. Would some other team grab Langley – a great athlete that hasn’t yet proven he can play defensive back? We’ll see, but I doubt it.

With room for only four safeties, Justin Simmons, Darian Stewart, Will Parks, and Su’a Cravens seemed likely roster candidates going into last week’s game. Especially since The Broncos traded for Su’a Cravens. With Will Parks and Su’a Cravens both nursing injuries, Dymonte Thomas gave a great performance. If there is a Preseason Pro Bowl, Dymonte Thomas is in. Could the three of them be battling for two spots? Fourth preseason games don’t count, but they might matter.

I would have said Linebacker Jerrol Garcia-Williams was on the bubble, but he injured his knee at practice today. Update: it looks like Garcia-Williams will spend 2018 on the Injured Reserve.

Defensive lineman Clinton McDonald, who spent the last four years with The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is certainly on the bubble on the defensive line. It will come down to how many defensive lineman they keep.
